Katrina G asked:

I can live with the sore throat, but this stuffy nose is driving me crazy. I want to sleep, but I cant since every 2 minutes i have to sit up and blow my nose or I cant breath properly. Ive been sick since yesterday, and im already sick of being sick!. I have Tyonel cold and flu (liquid) but it SUCKS.. Any one know of any medications that FOR SURE work, or any at home treatments that will work to get rid of this stuffy nose (And maybe the sore throat)

since theres over a billion bugs out there that cause both stuffy nose and sore throat, nothing will cure you. because they cant make a medication to target each strand. your best bet is to find something to soothe the symptoms and maybe “shorten” its period. try taking a hot shower, drinking tea with honey, and using zicam.

I had a cold about 2 weeks ago, I bought a over the counter nose spray (inhaler type) I think it was Zicam, follow the directions but it is like 2 sprays per nostril. It clears your sinuses right away. Buy a good brand like a 12 hour type. Make sure you take it every twelve hours ( or what ever it says) cause when it wears off you plug up right away. Use it for the duration of your cold maybe 3 days or maybe 4 but do not over use.
When you stop using it, make sure you stop in the morning cause you will feel stuffy for a day and then it should clear all up.
Then take tylenol for the sore throat, maybe?
Hope you feel better. oh I also took Nyquil at bedtime, now that works good.!

Try these home remedies to get rid of both the stuffy nose and sore throat:

    - Stir a teaspoon of salt into1 pint of warm or room-temperature water and gargle with it every hour. Do not swallow it

    - Mix a cup of juice of tomato and one teaspoon of powdered garlic and drink it.

    - Add 1 teaspoon each of salt, baking soda, and sugar to half a glass of warm water and gargle with it.

    - Add two garlic cloves to your salad.

    - Mix 1 teaspoon chamomile in 1 cup of hot water and gargle with it
