Destiny asked:

I went for a walk to the park about 24 hours ago and it was a pretty cold night, but I wasn’t cold.

But still, the next day, I got a cold and I have had it for about 12 hours now.

The symptoms include —->

> Sore throat (my worst)
> Drowsiness
> I think a head ache may be coming on soon
> Blocked/runny nose
> And I keep sneezing

Do you think that I got a cold from that night at the park?

And what can I do to try and cure this?

I have no vitamin tablets, only strepsils for my throat. And I’ve taken them heaps and it hasn’t gone away! HELP ME PLEASE! OUR SCHOOL PHOTO DAY IS TOMORROW!!!?

    Eurgh yeah I have a cold too…
    You won’t have got it from the park- you have to have caught it from someone else with a cold, but the cold night could have lowered your immune system a bit which could have contributed to the virus’s taking hold in your body…

    Sore throats tend to be the first symptom of a cold to come and go, so hopefully you’re nearly done with that bit… But make some tea and put honey and lemon in it, or gargle with salt water (but don’t swallow it!!)

    For the headache, take some paracetemol, it might also help with the drowsiness because that can sometimes be caused by a low fever, which the paracetemol will help with!

    For the nose, I don’t know why but I always found that putting a bit of Vaseline around your nose helps… I have no idea why. Also, every so often after sitting down for a while, stand up and just walk across the room, again I don’t know why but it seems to lift the congestion temporarily.

    I hope you feel better soon, I feel like cr*p with this stupid cold too so I feel your pain!
